EverGlow Safety Program

EverGlow NA, Inc. (EverGlow) is a manufacturer and supplier of (non-electrical) photoluminescent emergency lighting - code approved exit signs and egress path markings. EverGlow is committed to providing and maintaining a safe work environment for all of its employees. In order to do this, we have developed a strict safety program to which all of our employees and managers must adhere at all times while performing duties for EverGlow. Each employee (managers, supervisors, full time, part time and contract) has a personal responsibility and the full support of management in enforcing the guidelines outlined in this policy.

This Hazard Communication Program, developed by EverGlow NA, Inc. (aka EverGlow), has been prepared to comply with the requirements of the Federal OSHA standard 1926.59, and to ensure that information necessary for the safe use, handling, and storage of hazardous chemicals is provided and made available to all employees.

EverGlow TL300 Epoxy Coating Kits are sold with an accompanying Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Everglow TL300 kits are sold with ORM-D markings, and are subject to restrictions when shipping.

EverGlow TL300 Epoxy Coating Kit Safety Data Sheet 

EverGlow TL300 Epoxy Coating Kits contain Bisphenol A (BPA), which is listed on the International Living Future Institute's Red List of Building Materials and the EPA's Chemicals of Concern list. BPA is a likely endocrine disruptor and presents a serious risk to health and to the environment with exposure to certain quantities.

California Proposition 65 Compliance

Proposition 65 is a California state law requiring businesses to warn of exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. The law also requires the state to maintain a list of such chemicals. The actual list can be found here:

The following UL Compliance Report states that these EverGlow signs and markers were found to be compliant with Proposition 65. EverGlow sends out Safety Data Sheets, as appropriate, with each shipment.

EverGlow Proposition 65 Compliance - Report by UL

Summary of tests performed:

  • X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy
    • This test checked for lead, cadmium, mercury, nickel, antimony, bromine, and chlorine.
    • Risk assement of these elements was carried out in Engineering Analysis.
  • ChromateCheck
    • This test checked for chromates.
    • Chemicals containing chromates are frequently used in industry and can be toxic and carcinogenic.
    • Conclusion: No chromates were found in the products tested.
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
    • FTIR was used to check for phthalates and fluorocarbons.
    • These substances can be found in products containing PVC, and can be toxic in large enough doses.
    • Conclusion: No phthalates and no fluorocarbons were found in the products tested.
    • EverGlow does not sell any products containing PVC.
  • Engineering Analysis
    • The EverGlow EXIT sign, Aluminum Strip, and Tamper Resistant Tape sample were found to constitute a low risk.

EverGlow TL300 Epoxy Coating was not tested by UL. However, the SDS can be read here, and we include the Safety Data Sheet for this product with each shipment. Furthermore, product and shipping container labelling includes information as required by California Proposition 65.
